The second edition of the European Researchers’ Night (ERN), organised by the RAISE consortium – Researchers in Action for Inclusion in Science and Education, took place at the Champalimaud Foundation (Lisbon) on September 29th, 2023.

Designed to make science more inclusive and accessible, this edition of the event, which takes place all over Europe, received more than 1700 participants that, over the course of a 9-hour period, had the opportunity to explore more than 50 activities of different topics and formats. The diverse program, including workshops from different fields and a set of other activities, from immersive lab tours and speed dating with scientists to stand-up comedy and concerts, was the product of multiple collaborations established during the past years (for instance with Associação de Solidariedade Social do Alto da Cova da Moura and with Instituição Particular de Solidariedade Social Centro Doutor João dos Santos – Casa da Praia) and was conceived to promote the interaction between students, teachers, scientists from different domains, artists, families and athletes.

Collection of feedback forms during the event will allow evaluating the impact of the experience for about 50% of the participants (a percentage that is above what is typically achieved for events of this kind). Such careful analysis will be developed in collaboration with ImpactEd.
