Cientista Regressa à Escola – 4th edition
Throughout the 2024/2025 academic year, the 4th edition of the Scientist Returns to School (CRE) and Science in Our Own Way (CNM) programmes took place.
The CRE programme workshops were delivered by the Native Scientists team, while the three phases of the CNM mentoring programme were implemented by teams from the Champalimaud Foundation and GIMM.
These activities were carried out independently of the RAISE consortium (funded by the European Commission between May 2022 and April 2024), and despite budget constraints, it was possible to ensure the quality, schedule, and overall plan of activities in both programmes. However, some adjustments to the original plan were inevitable:
i) it was not possible to hold the Project Exhibition, developed within the scope of CRE and CNM, during the European Researchers’ Night (NEI); ii) the children involved in these programmes were unable to participate in the NEI; iii) the CRE Awards Ceremony did not take place in the NEI.
The teams involved remain firmly committed and enthusiastic, dedicated to promoting fairer and more inclusive access to education and science through the presence of researchers in schools.
